5 reasons I cannot join your MLM …

thanks-but-no-thanks

I bet if you are a part of a network marketing company, you’re already getting mad just by reading the title. Oh believe me, I’ve been there. I wanted to get people healthy and I thought this company would help me do that. I was big into my MLM company. I BELIEVED! I went to the conventions, called in on all the conference calls, listened to trainings and did what my up-line said. I really believed this would get me to my financial goals and that I could help get my friends there as well. It was exciting to think of the opportunities. After a few years and even earning the car they paid for if you made your monthly numbers, I found out that the products weren’t as pure as they had led us to believe. My team were taught to do sales which created a false bottom line. A lot of people in the desired “VP” status were not making the money that we were told people in that position would make. After finally leaving that company, I went on to on a few more. Never again.

  1. I don’t want to be THAT person

When your friends see you coming, do they run and hide? When you are in network marketing, you tell everyone you know about it just in case they are your next customer or better yet…team member. Friends and family get sick of hearing about your wonderful opportunity all the time. How many friends do you know that never had time to talk until they wanted to sell you something? I have had that happen to me way too many times.  I don’t want to be THAT person (again). Thanks goodness there was no social media when I was involved!

  1. I don’t believe in “Fake it til you Make It”

The company I was with wanted you to make your business sound like it was fabulous, all the time. Making your business sound incredibly lucrative when it’s not, just so people will join your team is just dishonest. Lying like that is a dirty sales tactic that I will not do.

  1. I don’t think the products are that great

Products sold by all the MLM’s I know about are not that unique or amazing. If there is caffeine, fake sugars, soy, artificial flavors or any other nonsense in your products, it does not interest me. There is no single juice or seed that is a cure-all. Adding some goodness is fine, just don’t try to sell it as a “revolutionary” product. I love oils, but don’t tell me I can ingest them. These companies are making their own rules and standards which I do not trust.

  1. It’s a full time job that I don’t have time for

If you want to have a successful business and earn good money as a network marketer, you have to really work it. Phone calls, cold calls, meetings, trainings, follow-ups, marketing…it’s a lot of work. Most companies will tell you that once you have a team, your business will run on its own. Don’t believe that. You always have to work hard. People dwindle and you need to find more.

  1. No fancy lingo for me please

You here the same lingo in all the companies. Please don’t let me here: revolutionary, efficacious, innovative, proprietary, cutting edge, state of the art, freedom, opportunity…I’m simply over hearing these words and their promises.

If you are in a MLM company, best of luck to you. Enjoy what you learn and the excitement of the great people you will meet. Your opportunity is not for me, but thanks for thinking of me.
